A stich in time, saves nine

Akaal Takhat Sahib the Supreme court of Sikhs took a historic decision by not admitting the letter released by Sect as an apology on the grounds that:

  • Its not properly addressed.
  • The language in the letter is not humble and respectful.

The point here to be noted is that Akal Takht Sahib did not reject this ‘apology’ because the priests did not consider it as one, so there is no question to accept or reject that letter. Stating this Jathedar Vedanti virtually rejected the letter and made it clear ‘A feeling from the heart was paramount for an apology. If the feeling is not right, such an apology is not even acceptable to the Gurus’. The letter sent was simply not composed as an apology with no admittance.

Before this decision was not made, there was a cacophony that political parties, such as SAD (Badal) and Swami Agnivesh who tried to convince the five priests to accept that letter as an apology in order to soften the stand against the Sect. On the other hand some of the hardliner groups will argue to reject the apology letter of Sect. The decision was therefore believed to possibly divide the Sikh community into two parts. This was really a crucial time for Akal Takht Sahib to decide about the letter.

The decision the Akal Takht Sahib gave to the community is endorsed by all internal elements of Sikh religion. This is a good sign of integrity, devotion and trust under Akal Takht Sahib’s flagship. Sikhs needs this spirit up, for the coming days of peaceful struggle.

As the decision is publicly known, the verdict given at Talwandi Saabo still applies the aspects the Sikh community must take into account are:

  • How to continue with the struggle by keeping it a peaceful movement.

  • What steps must be taken so that the Sects are closed, remaining within the law.

  • As the struggle may stretch for some time to come, the need to organize it thoroughly is essential in order to achieve the main goal.

There are a number of main goals. One is to ensure all the Sects of that cult vacate the premises they are currently stationed within. Another goal to be achieved is to identify and eradicate the fertile grounds and causes for popping up of these Sect weeds. This goal is no doubt very difficult but essential because we can no doubt fight peacefully and get success to vacate all the sects of that cult but if we will not find any solution to stop these cults from establishing there roots in our Punjab, the fight with this Sect culture is never going to end. Other derivations of these cults may still appear.

A stich in time has been given by Akaal Takht Sahib, its now our job to save the nine.
